We are TAPLAP!

About TAPLAP

Take a Plant, Leave a Plant (TAPLAP) is a grassroots community project and rare plant nursery rooted in Central Florida. What started with a single handmade plant stand has now grown into a network of free neighborhood swap stations, giving locals a way to share, connect, and grow—one plant at a time.

We believe plants are more than just decor — they’re connectors, teachers, and joy bringers. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just growing your first pothos, TAPLAP is a space for you.

Why It Matters

As cities grow and green space shrinks, we’re reclaiming our connection to nature—and each other. TAPLAP is more than a plant project. It's a movement fueled by generosity, rooted in sustainability, and designed to make plant care and community care one and the same.

What We Do

  • Free Community Plant Stands: Anyone can drop off or pick up a plant — no money, no judgment, just green generosity.

  • TAPLAP Nursery: We sell rare and exotic plants through our online shop and live sales. Proceeds help fund the expansion of our stands and support local plant events.

  • Events & Plant Swaps: From local markets to themed plant nights, we host events that bring the plant community together in fun, welcoming spaces.

Our Mission

To grow community through plants by creating accessible, sustainable, and joy-filled spaces where people can share and swap greenery — and where every purchase helps that mission grow.

Meet the Humans Behind the Plants

Jasmine – Part plant fairy, part community matchmaker. Founder of TAPLAP and always scheming up new ways to swap plants and spark joy. She’s the one answering your messages, planning the events, and somehow keeping the plants (and the people) alive.

José – The muscle, the shipping guy, the live sale hype man. If it involves tools, tape, or tropicals, José’s probably handling it. Also known for packing your plants like they’re Fabergé eggs.

Together, we’re a plant-powered tag team on a mission to make Central Florida a little greener, one weird plant and one awesome neighbor at a time.
